Milwaukee Urban Agriculture Network

MUAN has held several educational events addressing soil health, including on winter vegetable production, access to conservation funding, the value, planting and processing of small grains and food grade grains, and through NRCS funding, we offer “Exploratory Conservation Funding” grants for urban growers to try conservation practices at backyard and garden-plot scale. We participated in Milwaukee’s first Urban Agriculture Conference in late October, 2024.

NRCS funding has become the funding backbone for MUAN, and two other funders are supporting its work, but SHARE funding continues to support our collaborators, our translation/interpretation offerings at our events, and to be important in the success of this project’s work.
