The Soil Health & Agroecological Living Lab (SHALL) examines social dynamics that contribute to more healthy and just food and agriculture in Wisconsin, the United States, and the world. Our major goals include conducting research and outreach focused on:
1) Opportunities, obstacles, and solutions regarding engagement in soil-health-promoting practices in Wisconsin and beyond
2) Producer characteristics that tend to be associated with soil-health-promoting practices
3) The roles of trust, knowledge cultivation, and politics in influencing decision-making regarding soil health practices
4) Justice standards for farm labor
5) Food sovereignty and soil health
6) The arts and rural place-making surrounding soil-health-promoting practices
